ANNUAL REGISTRATION OF NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION PROCESS
You can check to see if your church is registerd as a business entity in the Commonwealth. The process is as follows:
Log onto: www.dos.state.pa.us
- At the bottom right under "Search DOS database" click: "Find Corporations Registered to do Business in PA"
- Highlight "All Words" and type in the name of the church, or entity number and then click: Search
The search will indicate if the searched item (your church or entity number) is registered.
IF YOUR CHURCH IS NOT REGISTERED YOU WILL NEED TO DO SO BY FOLLOWING THESE INSTRUCTIONS:
The form required to register a church as a business entity in the Commonwealth is the Annual Statement-Nonprofit Corporation.
On line you can access, complete and file it with the department of State. The process is as follows:
Log onto: www.dos.state.pa.us
- Click on - Register your business (one of he bullit points under "Let us help you"
- Click on - Forms and Publications (in the menu on the left)
- Go to and click on- Click Here to Proceed to Dept. of State Forms
- On Forms page scroll to - Domestic Non-Profit Corporations and Click on: Annual Report
(in PDF format). Or to go directly to this page click: http://www.dos.state.pa.us/corps/lib/corps/20/7/5110.pdf
- This will give you the form and you can fill it out and print it. Blank forms can be printed if you wish
- It may be a little more complicated to e-send the completed form but you will probably understand the directions
