NATURAL CHURCH DEVELOPMENT

Our church pastors received a small booklet at the April Presbytery meeting called "The ABC's of Natural Church Development."  This booklet can be purchased for $2.00 at www.churchsmart.com Go to Products, then Product Categories, then Natural Church Development.  It is the first resource listed.  It is a compilation of extensive world-wide church health research.  It speaks of being principle centered rather than being a model to emulate.  There will be multiple workshops held to learn more about this process.  Workshops are:  Thursday, May 12th 10:00 - noon at Bellevue Presbyterian Church, Gap,  Saturday, May 21st 10:00 - noon at First Presbyterian in Strasburg, PA, and Saturday, June 25th from 10:00 - noon at Bellevue Presbyterian Church, Gap.  Registration is required by calling or emailing Charlie Gross at the Presbytery Office.  Phone: 717.392.4035 and email:  cgross@donegalpby.com Please register no later than 2 days prior to the workshop date.

PURPOSE DRIVEN CHURCH CORNER!!

Rev Jeff Lampl and the staff at New London Presbyterian Church did a superior job in presenting the Purpose Driven Church concept on Thursday, April 14th from 8:15 till 12:30pm.  It was like drinking from a fire hose!  You could taste the energy and enthusiasm as they unfolded plans to join God in changing the world and bringing the world to Jesus Christ!  You can get more information at: www.purposedrivenpresbyteriansnetwork.net or www.purposedriven.com

If you don't have an intentional way of discipling your people and engaging your world, investigate these superior resources.

ONE GOOD IDEA

This idea was shown at the Mission Workshop by Jim and Lois Caldwell.  It is an idea that can be used by your mission committee to actively engage people in the missions that are being supported.  Use an inch and a quarter block in your weekly worship bulletin.  Put a bold border around it and call it, "INCH-AND-A-QUARTER OF MISSION."  It can hold about 6 lines of 8-9 words about mission projects, missionaries, your mission budget, etc.  It is just one more avenue to transform your body of Christ into active mission supporters!

If you have a good idea, I'd love to share it in this eNews letter.  Send it to me via: cgross@donegalpby.com  Thank-You Very Much!
