Are you concerned about racism in our society? Would you like to participate in learning more about it in order to help correct discrimination against those who are "different from us" ? At the Churchwide Transformation and Multicultural Connection Conference being held at Columbia U. in NYC July 14-17, 2005, there will be Antiracism training workshops on Wed., July 13 and 14, for those who are interested in exploring this ministry. If you are then interested in going on with it, you may be invited to Louisville in the fall to receive further training. Interracial teams are needed to do this important work. Genocide in Sudan.  To promote awareness, we have to understand the conflict and keep informed of ongoing developments in Darfur. One of the best sources of information on Darfur to be found is on Eric Reeves' website. Reeves is a professor from Smith College who has spent the past six years working full-time as a Sudan researcher, analyst and consultant, almost entirely without pay. His website is: www.sudanreeves.org  Info also at: www.darfurgenocide.org

Trip highlights from Sri Lanka:  Read Alex and Kiran Wimberley's "web log" (blog for short) at: www.kiranandalexinsrilanka.blogspot.com or come to Honey Brook on Tuesday, June 21st to the Presbytery meeting and hear them "live."

NEWS ISSUES FROM PRESBYTERY!

The Fall Multi-Church Study will be "Why Doesn't God Do Something? Christianity Confronts the Reality of Evil and Suffering?" led by Professor Lee Barrett. This study discusses the many Christian responses to the challenges of tragedy and evil and invites participants to reflect upon their own understanding of the relationship of God and suffering.  The study begins and concludes with a lecture on campus. LTS provides a bibliography and a study guide. This year we hope to provide a video of the initial lecture for those who cannot attend.  Please try to register your congregation by June 20. (The cost is $125 per congregation.) If you would like more information, contact Professor Bruce Epperly at 717-290-8759 or bepperly@lancasterseminary.edu

ONE GOOD IDEA

How have you seen God's active Spirit working in your summer vacation, your summer travels, your family reunions, or your time on the deck with friends?  I'd love to hear of your reflections, a journal entry, a prayer, a thought, a story or a scripture that spoke to you during this time.  May Your Summer Be Full of God's Wonder!

If you have a good idea, I'd love to share it in this eNews letter.  Send it to me via: cgross@donegalpby.com  Thank-You Very Much!
