Worth airport. From Rick Chase's recent Congo trip: What is mission? It is sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and inviting others into a community of faith. It is development that provides long-term, economic stability for communities at risk, and the construction of schools where children would otherwise have no access to education. It is supporting seminaries that are forming the next generation of church leaders. It is hospitals, nutrition programs, and community HIV/AIDS health campaigns. Mission is working for the kingdom of God "on earth, as it is in heaven" in real ways, every day.

ONE GOOD IDEA

We are gathering as leaders, Department and Division Chairs to discuss budgeting priorities.  We held a meeting July 26th and will hold one on August 8th.  We are looking for ways to both resource our churches and also hold the line on expenses.  We need your inputs!  Send comments to: cgross@donegalpby.com Our big ticket items are: Staffing - $317,097, Congregational Ministries - $107,325, Vitalization - $71,000, New Church Development - $98,900, Mission Within The Presbytery - $96,358, Office expenses - $85,000.  Our per capita is now $20.52 per member.  What level of increase should we hold?  We give in mission slightly over one million dollars.  We keep for our work 35% ($350,000).  We send to Synod 20% ($200,000) and send to General Assembly 45% ($450,000).  If we are forced to make some adjustments to these percentages, how shall we do it?  We need to hear from you!  Thanks!

If you have a good idea, I'd love to share it in this eNews letter.  Send it to me via: cgross@donegalpby.com  Thank-You Very Much!
