TOP STORIES

Our 2006 Per Capita Budget!  The August 11th eNews spoke of a minor increase in Per Capita that was anything but minor (7.2% increase).  You need to hear the rest of the story!  The Administration Department which contains the Human Resource Division and Finance Division, will be bringing a motion forward in September to hire a Business Administrator to replace our Bookkeeper position.  This is a move to add additional accounting controls to our financial system.  We want to provide the very best financial reporting and processes possible.  The Per Capita implication of this move is roughly a $1.15 increase.  Our Per Capita for this year is $20.52.  This is derived from GA Per Capita of $5.57, Synod Per Capita of $2.10, and Presbytery Per Capita of $12.85.  For 2006 the GA Per Capita remains $5.57, Synod goes to $2.00, and Presbytery's may be $14.17.  This would be $21.64 or only a 5.4% increase.  We are still having budget discussions, so these are not the final answers.   These issues will be discussed at the Administration Department meeting on Sept 6th and the Council meeting on Sept 12th.  If you have further comments, send them to Charlie Gross, cgross@donegalpby.com.  Thank-you for your passion for Christ!

Tools for Congregational Transformation!  Surviving and Thriving!  An outstanding one day conference to super-charge your personal or congregational transformation!  Conference leader is: Dr. E. Stanley Ott.  Cost is $25/person or $100 per church for unlimited attendees.  Schedule is 9:30 - 3:30 in Allentown, PA.  Registration materials will be on our website:  www.donegalpby.com

Watch for the legislation that will advocate for a U. S. Department of Peace!  Read about it at: www.dopcampaign.org  For some eye-opening dollar figures, visit www.costofwar.com to watch the cost of the Iraq war.  It might lead us to pray a little longer or more faithfully for peace.  Take some time even right now to hold our soldiers, sailors, airmen and women and their families in prayer.
