God is using His Servant Paul Risk in Mississippi! Paul is helping to plan and organize work for Presbyterian Disaster Assistance along the gulf coast of Mississippi! Through his persistence and efforts, The Presbytery of Mississippi just received $500,000 from the National Presbyterian Disaster Assistance office! Praise God! Look for ways to volunteer at village 3 (Orange Grove) or village 4 (Westminster). Paul is involved with both of them. You can find info at: http://www.pcusa.org/katrina/index.htm#village

Applications for Youth Advisory Delegates to the 2006 General Assembly are due to the Presbytery Office, Attn: YAD Selections, P.O. Box 10054, Lancaster, PA 17605-0054 by Dec 20, 2005! Youth must be between 17 - 23 during the June General Assembly. Youth must have a letter of recommendation from Session and a statement of 500 words describing their faith journey and church involvement. Call Kathy for an application!

Presbytery Mission Trip for 2006! Trips will be planned for Hurricane Katrina rebuilding efforts in Mississippi. Watch for more details.
According to Bob Scarborough, beginning January 1, Carlisle Presbytery will be coordinating all of the Lend-A-Hand efforts that Christian Churches United sponsored for about 15 years. The contact person is Mark Krieger, General Presbyter. We have 20 extra copies of the 2006 Mission Yearbook for Prayer & Study at $5.00 each and 1 copy of the 2006 Children's Mission Yearbook for Prayer & Study at $4.50 each. They are available at the presbytery office. If you ordered your 2006 Children's Mission Yearbooks for Prayer and Study, you may pick them up any time at the presbytery office, or at the January 17 presbytery meeting.
Deacon/Elder/Clerk Training scheduled. Mark your calendars for March 5th from 2:00pm till 5:00pm at Central Downingtown or March 12th at Highland Presbyterian for some leadership training for deacons, elders and clerks. There will be breakouts for the various positions. |
