ATTENTION PNCs - One of our candidates for ordination received a "rejection" letter from one of our churches for listing too high a salary.  The problem is that the new PIF form asks for a combined cash salary and housing, rather than just the cash salary.  Our 2006 presbytery recommended minimum is $43,780 - which is $33,680 salary and $10,100 for housing.  Please take a close look at these new forms and what they are really saying!

ONE GOOD IDEA

Use the Church and Clergy Tax Guide's proposed spreadsheet to track daily business mileage and expenses:  The categories recommended are: Date, Destination, Business Purpose, Start mileage, Stop mileage, Miles this trip, Type of expense, Amount.  If you put this type of spreadsheet in your PDA or handheld computer, the end of the month calculations are really simple.  In 2007, the IRS mileage is $0.485/mile.  The Volunteer rate is: $0.14/mile.  If you are driving for medical or moving purposes, the rate is: $0.20/mile.

If you have a good idea, I'd love to share it in this eNews letter.  Send it to me via: charlie@donegalpby.com  Thank-You Very Much!
